Portrait
Drawing Class
David C. Hancock will be teaching an Introduction to Portraiture class at
Longview Community College outside of Kansas City. Classes are Monday evenings
begin February 25th and go for six weeks. Topics covered will include structure
and anatomy of the head, capturing likeness and expression, and basic portrait
composition.
Students will execute one rendered black and white portrait drawing of
their own from a photograph. Style and different
methods of approach will also be addressed, looking at examples from master
portrait artists.
